    Description

Unfortunately we have had a high rate of returns due to failure on these and can no longer enthusiastically recommend them. Please consider our original rebuilt units. This is the large nut control valve that Ford switched to after 1967. Many 1967 Cougars have been converted to the 1968 valve over the years so you may want to double check your valve before ordering. These units are designed to use type F fluid, not off the shelf power steering fluid. Please follow the procedures for installation in your shop manual.

If you have a 67 we highly recommend upgrading to this large nut (5/16") control valve as the small nut control valve poses a potential safety issue, thus the reason why Ford replaced it the following year 1968. The small nut system was engineered dangerously close to the maximum psi tolerances of the crimp that holds the fitting on the tubing.

    LIFETIME WARRANTY.

*NOTE: Our rebuilt and reproduction control valves all come pre-lubed with the correct amount of grease. If out of the box you add more grease, you will damage the valve. Unlike some suspension parts, these are not designed to add grease until you see the grease coming out of the seal. Our LIFETIME WARRANTY does not cover over lubricating.

Originally bought a refurbished unit for my '67 Cougar. After install the car wouldn't turn left. It took 5 weeks of searching before a garage finally cracked the refurbished control valve open and found it full of metal filings. They said I needed all new parts and this time to buy new and not refurbished. I bought this one and it works great, with no hassles. The team over at West Coast Classics Cougars were very helpful with the parts too. Thanks!
