    Description

    Please Note:

Many used items in our picture(s) have been cleaned and/or bead blasted prior to being photographed to show condition and detail. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned. We do not retake pictures each time a used item sells. Pictures are a good indicator of what you will receive, but not all used parts age the same. On high dollar parts, email us and we can send a few pictures of the actual part available.

"Core" Items: If we use the word "Core" in the title of the product, the item has been deemed rebuildable, but has not been rebuilt.  The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.

Used grade "B" driver side (left hand) grill section for the Mercury Cougar. 1968 is unique from the 1967 grille in a couple of ways, but the most noticeable is the upper mounting tab where it bolts to the grille center. 1968 had a more durable reinforced casting in this area. This grille half has been carefully inspected and may have some minor cracking, but will have good chrome with no pits, major scratches, and is not severely warped. It will have a misalignment issue as they all do in the portion on the outer most corner where the eyelid meets the grille. This is caused by the fact that the vacuum actuator was made with a shaft that is longer than needed. The very powerful actuator puts excessive force on the grille causing it to contort in the area where the head light mounts which creates misalignment within minutes of straightening out the defect. If you look at early press photos closely you will see misalignment in these grilles in brand new cars.

Our son was heading to his friends house when a very large dog ran in front of his 1968 XR7 "Holly" and as much as his driving abilities, there was no way to miss the dog. Unfortunately, Holly took out the dog with the driver side grill. What a mess. The only happy note is that WCCC had a great price on a Grade B grill section that was in really great shape. Excellent packaging and fast delivery!!! Thank you WCCC as always!!! You got us quickly back on the road.
