    Description

    Please Note:

Many used items in our picture(s) have been cleaned and/or bead blasted prior to being photographed to show condition and detail. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned. We do not retake pictures each time a used item sells. Pictures are a good indicator of what you will receive, but not all used parts age the same. On high dollar parts, email us and we can send a few pictures of the actual part available.

"Core" Items: If we use the word "Core" in the title of the product, the item has been deemed rebuildable, but has not been rebuilt.  The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.

Late 1971 (4-1-1971) through mid late 1972 Mercury Cougar, approximate cutoff is 3-1-1972. Look for two different things to differentiate the trunk lids. First is the spacing on the bolts to the hinges. This style has a 4-1/4 inch spacing, early 1971 deck or trunk lids have a 3 inch spacing on those hinge bolts. The seconde is the style of deck / trunk lock cylinder attachment. D1WY-40110-B style has the internal style of keeper for the trunk lock cylinder. These deck / trunk lids do not have a rectangular access hole under the trunk lock.
For deck / trunk lids it is all about rust under the inner rear lip... We still check it over good for excessive filler, correct contour on all the lines and hidden rust under the weather strip. Keep in mind we also have panels that fall in between an A and B, it is hard to list every grade of panel on our site so sometimes you will have to email to see what we have.
We ship deck / trunk lids with several layers of thick cardboard / foam and insure them for the full amount. Keep in mind shipping is free if you order at the same time as a hood, door or quarter panel.

    Ford part # D1WY-40110-B.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...

I have made many purchases online with WCCC but chose this time to make a 1400 mile round trip and visited them in person. I brought a van load of parts with me that needed a home. Don helped unload them then quickly assessed the value which I...

I was having difficulty placing my order on the website and spent a couple of hours trying with no luck (ending in immense frustration). I decided to finally just call and order my parts over the phone (4 small items). Was surprised that Don Rush...

Brake booster failed on our 1970 Mach1. We had ordered a new 2022 Mach1 to match the old one and the dealer wanted to use both cars in a promotional ad. When we received the replacement booster it failed within a few minutes of installation. I...

WCCC makes finding the right part with the right fit easy. I love that they try to get great parts and when there are parts that don't meet their standard they WARN you up front! I've bought new reproduction parts from them, used parts and even had...
