    Description

Our turn signal switches are made on the FoMoCo original tooling. If you have replaced your sequential unit in the trunk with one of our new solid state sequential units and are still having problems then the turn signal switch is most likely the culprit as the only other part to the system is the wiring harness itself. For 1968, the relay under the dash almost always is weak (pulsates dimly instead of distinct blinking) but its sole purpose is to illuminate the directional arrows on the dash and does not affect the operation of the tail lights. Often when your brake lights are not working the turn signal switch is the culprit as the brake lights feed through the turn signal switch.

This switch is also correct for the 1968 Ford Thunderbird tilt column, without factory cruise control.

    Replaces Ford part # C8SZ-13341-B.

*NOTE* Need help diagnosing a Cougar turn signal problem? Victor Yarberry is the world’s most knowledgeable expert on the subject. Vic has owned Cougars since the 1970's and is the designer of all of our solid state sequential systems. There is no question he cannot answer! Here is a link to a great source of information on the subject. Here is a great diagram that may also help.

*NOTE* For tilt column service, you can contact Tony Augustine at 6t8cougarguy@gmail.com. Tony is a trusted colleague of WCCC and we've sent many customers his way since our column specialist retired last year.

Easy to install with the right tools (steering wheel puller, torque wrench, etc). Works perfectly. Just make sure when installing to line up the black nub on the back of the switch with the hole in the metal backing plate. It's easy to put this in without those lined up and have issues.

The part Don sells is more expensive than other available from other supply houses by about $20. However, there's no comparison on the quality. The turn signal cancel cam on the less expensive model has a flimsy feel to it, and gives me impression I would be buying the repair kit in a year or so.

One thing to watch out for on this reproduction part: the color of the green wires. The factory original has a dark green wire, and a slightly lighter shade of green wire with a white tracer. On the repo part, the light green has a white tracer that is nearly impossible to see, especially when you are upside down under the dash trying to find out why you turn signals work but your brake lights don't. Make sure you get the two lined up correctly or you'll be stumped for a while figuring it out.

Verdict: Worth the extra $ for a higher quality part. Changing this part is a pain, and you don't want to do it twice, even with Don's helpful video.
