The signals on my '71 were acting flaky - one side seemed slow, the other needed to be manually clicked on and off, and in combination with braking and headlights I had a couple complaints from other motorists, to the point I didn't trust them for night driving. So I replaced both the board in the trunk and this unit, and together they solved it all. I put off installing for a while thinking I might switch to plasma, but honestly, good bulbs and a fully working system made a big difference in both reliability and visibility.
There could be better instructions on the install, which is really easy. The screws for the panel are above, and right at the front of the glove box. It's a metal panel with several modules attached. Once the screws are out it comes right down. Mine had a square-shaped holder for the flasher unit, and the new box was too large for a good fit. Once I anchored the ground with a nut and bolt I'm sure it won't move enough to worry about.
