    Description

These rear view mirror lenses are sold on an exchange basis.

Due to time constraints, we can no longer offer the service of having your own mirror restored, this is now an exchange based service only.
Any mention of it in the video below is outdated, please disregard.

We STRONGLY suggest you watch our "how to" video prior to attempting to remove your lens and send it in. Keep in mind glass is porous and is prone to staining. Often times these faint stains do not show up until the glass has been re-silvered. About 1 in 8 mirrors seem to have some amount of staining visible after the mirror has been re-silvered. Please send in your used mirrored glass lens only, no rear view mirror assemblies please.

During re-assembly, we really don't recommend that you use glue because the mirror housing will hold the lens in place by itself. If you feel you must use something, use a specialty mirror glue, because some glues (like silicone) can have a chemical reaction with the silver and cause discolored spots on your mirror in time.

If your mirror lens is broken we do have some restored lenses we can sell you that have obvious chips or stains and we will sell those with no exchange or core charge for $30-$60 depending on the severity of the blemish.

“-When mirrors are exposed to excess moisture, water can get between the layer of silver and the backing. This causes the bond to break and the silvering to chip off behind the glass. This leaves your mirror with unsightly dark spots or black edges where the silver has fallen away. ”

Check out our video below on how to replace your mirror lens.

My old mirror was not usable, non reflective. This is like brand new. I recommend the use of a heat gun to warm up the molded rubber housing.

Needless to say doing a concourse restoration on a car you want to hold on to every original part you can. I am glad to say the exchange of my original mirror core was handled well. My original glass was unchipped and not scratched. The mirror I received back was a comparable replacement. WCC has been a great source for my concourse mustang restoration. See, siblings can get along well.

    Question
    Asked:
Can you clarify what is best for adhesive for the mirror? Description says use mirror glue, NOT silcon, but video says that opposite? Thanks - Will

    Answer
    WCCC Admin Answered:
We really do not recommend that you use glue at all because the mirror housing will hold the lens in place by itself and many of the glue products out there will cause issues with the silvering over time.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
