    Description

These fuel door Mercury crest emblems have been lovingly restored by a long time Cougar enthusiast. They have been carefully repainted the correct colors and will really liven up the looks of the rear of your 1969 - 1970 Cougar. This crest was used on all models except the 1970 Eliminator. The engineering number on the back is C9WB-65405A92. To remove your emblem we suggest grinding down the studs on the backside. To install the restored emblem you will have to use epoxy glue. Keep in mind you must send in a clean core (as pictured) with good chrome if you are wanting a core credit. We advise that you send your core to us in advance of us sending your restored item to you so as to make sure we give you as good of quality of chrome as we are giving to you. Please do not send us heavily pitted cores, we have plenty...

    Pros:
    • Having to grind off original studs
    Cons:
    • Concern about epoxy holding part on
The workmanship is excellent! I couldn't tell the difference between a NOS and the restored emblem. My only concern is trusting my epoxy application skills. I've screwed up so much stuff working on my 1969 Cougar, despite all the help I've gotten from WCCC. Of course you aren't going to have this issue, so no worries there.

The crest on my fuel door was trashed, so I ordered a restored one from WCCC. The restoration work was great, not a blemish on the crest. It fit perfectly and looks great on the back of my 70 convertible.

Close to new. 44 years later I can spruce up my rear and get rid of my old sun baked, gasoline ruined fuel door crest. Couldn't be happier with the restored Merc Crest Emblem.

This 'restored' item came with only slight pitting and clear coating on the center. I did receive the $50.00 core charge, making this a fair deal.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
