WCCC is a buyer of used and NOS hard to find 67-73 Mercury Cougar parts. Usually we give an in store credit of 50% of our web price for parts delivered in hand or by carrier to our Brooks, Oregon location. We do not send cash for parts in advance but we often can compensate you within hours of receiving the goods.

Sometimes a 50% wholesale bid will not be enough to entice you to sell. It never hurts to ask if we can up our bid! If it is an in demand item that we have requests for we often can pay more. Just email us if you have questions or want to share pictures.

    Question
    Jason Davee Asked:
I keep have seen listings on ebay for 1969-1970 Cougar hood scoops but they are either Mustang or possibly Mavrick / Comet ones. I want to buy one with the correct bolt pattern and don't care if it came off a Comet. Will one of those have the same bolt pattern and spacing? Also, there are some that are listed as true 1970 Cougar scoops but I don't know how to properly identify them based on the markers on the underside. One right now says Ford Assy D34BV and 40-2742 D14B -16C664 AA and 40-2444 -C9GB-16C664 C (stamped over a B) and 40-2446 and C9WB-16C664-C / Also Ford Panel C9GB-16056-C (stamped over a B) 40-2445. Thanks for the help.

If you scroll through all of the images for this listing, one of them is a shot of the back and that should give you an idea of the numbers you should find on the correct one for the 70 Cougar. I noticed that the numbers on the used one we have listed (https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/c9wb-16c664-c.html) vary a bit from this NOS one, but we state the used one is a service replacement. When there is a bunch of Ford part numbers on the bottom of the scoop, it shows you that you can move the studs to the different stud locations on the scoop to make it fit any of the listed applications, so you are really looking for one that lists c9wb-16c664-b or c9wb-16c664-c on the bottom of the scoop.

The correct scoop for the 70 Cougar was also known to be used on the following cars:

    1969 Mercury Cyclone
    1970 Mercury Comet
    1971 Mercury Comet
    1972 Mercury Comet
    1973 Ford Maverick Grabber

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

      • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
      • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
      • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
