Reproduction Rocker Panel Mouldings for the 1968 Mercury Cougar
This is a decent off-shore quality pair of anodized aluminum mouldings. They tend to be a touch brighter than the original mouldings which had a more satin finish. The 1967 models did not use these but they will fit fine if you want the look. Ford issued a TSB (technical service bulletin) instructing the Service Departments to drill a hole through the rocker moulding into the lower fender and install a chrome finished Phillips screw back in the day due to them falling off. Do know these are the same way and can be difficult to make stay in place at the front wheel. Further complicating the issue is the fact that the clips sold for these are for a Mustang and the clip that goes in front is contoured wrong. These will also fit your 1969 Cougar if you use the 1968 clips, they will not fit a 1970 due to the increased size of the 1970 rear wheel opening. Sold as a pair, there is no difference between right and left, clip sets sold separate.
Please note that the plastic end clips are Mustang only, and we highly suggest buying the metal version of the rocker panel clip in order to fit correctly. Get them here.
